I know what it's like to be hungry after a hard day at work, or in need of a home cooked meal when you're on the road. I was born and raised right here in the Ruby Valley, and getting through the day with a quality meals is important. I've been cooking professionally for the last 40 years, and I still love it.

We make all of our meals from scratch. That is, outside of milling our own flour! You can trust that any meal you eat here is made with fresh ingredients, culinary creativity, and a whole lotta love.
We know how important it is for you to support local food producers. After all, we are an agricultural community. We take pride in buying almost all of our meat and potatoes locally, and as many seasonally available vegetables as possible.
Waste not, want not. That's how I grew up.
Very little goes to waste here at Shovel & Spoon. All food scraps are sent to local pigs and chickens for consumption. We take efforts to reduce our electric and water usage. Plus, much of our to-go packing is fully recyclable.
SERVING THE COMMUNITY
We are dedicated to serving our local community. We work to create a positive, welcoming, and inclusive place for all to belong. We use our cafe as a space for local artists to showcase their work. We host local events, open mic nights, and community groups for individuals to gather together.
